What standard CGI scripts do you support?
We support the following standard CGI scripts:
- formpost.cgi
- form to email handler - used for sending the contents of a form via email or to a database file on the server (or both!) - mostly used for contact forms and order forms but has many other uses!
- fp2.aspx
- new form to email handler (soon to replace formpost.cgi) with many new options - much more configurable with options for user defined templates and output.
- counter.cgi
- web page hit counter - supports up to 1000 counters per web site - configurable with 5 different graphic counters, a basic text counter or hidden.
- randomdoc.cgi
- random HTML insert utility - hard to describe but capable of many things (often used to display random banners, quote-of-the-day etc.).
- search.aspx
- under development / testing - coming soon! We are currently finishing development of a completely new database driven search system for sites we host - for more details please contact us!
On our Unix based servers we also support Server Side Includes (SSI) or Server Parsed HTML - this can be very useful for simplifying the administration work of a site and can be used with templates to give a consistent look
and feel to the site! If you can think of any other standard CGI's we should add please contact us!If you have a specific need for a custom CGI - contact us and we can give you a quote for writing it - it is often less expensive than you may think! If you require help with using any of these scripts - contact us or email support@getonline.co.ukTo return to the list of Web Server / Email FAQ's - click here... |
