Year 2000 Passes Without Problems

We were very happy to see that the Year 2000 passed without any serious problems for the World. Many people and much of the media were predicting huge problems with major services (electric, water etc.) especially in some of the developing or "cash starved" nations.

Preparing for the Year 2000 has cost a huge amount of money and people now say "Was it worth it" and "Was there a problem?". If you ask any Computer or Information Technology company that question they will certainly tell you that there WAS a problem and it COULD have been disasterous - so we would like to say "Well Done!" to everyone for doing their part!

Here at Get Online we experienced no problems at all - our systems and network all use very modern hardware and software and we were confident that our extensive work to test and re-test our systems along with working with our suppliers (and competitors!) had been successful.

On last point - many people see the Year 2000 Problem as just being related to the changeover from 31st December 1999 to 1st January 2000 but there are also issues relating to this year being a Leap Year (29th February 2000) so make sure your systems are also tested for that as well!
